Getting Started
To add a foster, you'll need:
- Their contact information (name, email, phone)
- Their preferences for what animals they can care for
Adding a Foster
- Go to Fosters in the main menu
- Click Add a Foster in the top right
- Fill out the foster form
Form Sections
Foster Information
- Name: The foster's full name (required)
- Email: Contact email address
- Phone: Primary phone number
- Address: Home address (uses address autocomplete)
Main Contact
If someone else will be the main point of contact:
- Name: Contact person's name
- Email: Their email address
- Phone: Their phone number
- Preferred Communication: How they prefer to be contacted (email, phone, text)
Animal Preferences
- Species Preference: What type of animals they can foster (dogs, cats, rabbits, or all)
- Age Categories: Which age groups they're comfortable with - select all that apply (youngest, young, adult, senior)
- Assignment Length: How long they typically foster - select all that apply (short-term, long-term, emergency)
- Capacity: Maximum number of animals they can care for at once (enter a number)
Notes
Any additional information about the foster, such as:
- Experience with special needs animals
- Home environment details
- Schedule or availability notes
Saving the Foster
Once you've filled out the form:
- Review the information
- Click Add Foster at the bottom
- You'll be taken to the foster's profile page
Custom Forms
If your organization has created a custom foster form:
- The fields may be different from those described above
- Required fields will be marked with an asterisk (*)
- Fill out all sections as they appear
What's Next
After adding a foster:
- Assign pets to them from their profile page
- Review and update their information as needed
- Track their foster history and statistics
