Reviewing Surrenders
The Surrenders page helps your team review owner surrender requests before any animal becomes a real pet profile.
Use the List
Use the list filters to focus on the requests that need attention:
- Status: Pending, Active, Inactive, Denied, Blocked, Suspended, or Training
- Due: overdue, today, next 7 days, no due date, or all due dates
- Tags: custom surrender tags
The list also shows pet item counts, due date, and last updated date.
Review the Case
Open a surrender to inspect the full profile:
- Check the owner/contact information and form answers.
- Review each pet item on the Pets tab.
- Link a pet item to an existing pet when the pet already has a profile.
- Use the surrender edit form to create a new pet from the full pet form.
- Update the surrender status when the request has been handled.
Pet Records
Do not edit pet profile details from the surrender pet item card. Linked pets open the normal pet profile and pet edit form, so custom pet fields and shelter-specific pet fields stay in one place.
