Donation Amounts

The Donation Amounts settings page allows you to configure predetermined donation amount options that potential donors can select when contributing to your shelter.

Overview

Setting up strategic donation amounts makes it easier for supporters to donate and can help increase contributions. PawPlacer provides both suggested amounts with impact descriptions and the ability to create custom donation options.

Managing Donation Amounts

Suggested Donation Amounts

PawPlacer offers several suggested donation amounts with meaningful descriptions of their impact. These can be added to your donation form with a simple click:

• $25 - Cover a vaccination
• $50 - Cover a microchip
• $100 - Cover a spay/neuter procedure
• $250 - Cover an exam
• $500 - Cover a healthy pet stay
• $1000 - Be a hero

Adding Suggested Amounts

1. Find the card with the suggested amount and description you want to add
2. Click the "+" button in the top-right corner of the card
3. The amount will immediately appear in your "Selected Amounts" section

Creating Custom Amounts

You can also create custom donation amounts with your own descriptions:

1. Scroll to the "Selected Amounts" section
2. Find the blank card at the end of your existing amounts
3. Enter the dollar amount you'd like to add
4. Add a short, descriptive explanation of what this donation will help fund
5. Click "Add" to save the new donation amount

Editing Existing Amounts

To modify an existing donation amount:

1. Click the pencil (edit) icon on the donation amount card
2. Update the amount and/or description as needed
3. Click "Save" to apply your changes

Removing Donation Amounts

To remove a donation amount:

1. Click the trash icon on the donation amount card
2. The amount will be immediately removed from your options

Display Order

Donation amounts are displayed to users in ascending order (smallest to largest), helping potential donors easily find an amount that matches their giving capacity.

Best Practices

• Keep descriptions brief but impactful, explaining what the donation will help accomplish
• Offer a range of amounts to accommodate different donor capacities
• Use specific impact descriptions rather than general statements
• Consider your audience when setting amount levels

Important Notes

• While there is no strict limit on donation amounts, PawPlacer will display a warning if any amount exceeds $5,000
• Only users with administrator privileges can modify donation amounts
