Create and manage pets and their profiles in your organization

Managing Pet Profiles

Pet profiles are the central hub for all information about the animals in your care. Each profile contains important details about the pet, including their physical attributes, behaviors, medical history, and adoption status.

Accessing Pet Profiles

  1. Navigate to the main Pets section from the side menu
  2. View all pets in either list or grid view
  3. Click on any pet to access their detailed profile

Understanding the Pet Profile Layout

The pet profile page is divided into several sections:

Main Information Section

This section displays the pet's:

  • Name and basic identifying information
  • Current status (Available, Adopted, Fostered, etc.)
  • Primary image and media gallery (photos and videos)
  • Basic details such as age, sex, breed, and color
  • Special needs (if any)
  • Microchip ID
  • Adoption fee

Temperaments and Compatibility

This section shows:

  • Temperament badges (such as "Affectionate," "Energetic," "Shy")
  • Good with indicators (showing compatibility with children, other animals, etc.)
  • Incompatible with indicators (showing what the pet doesn't get along with)

Medical Records Tab

Access the pet's complete medical history, including:

  • Vaccinations
  • Exams
  • Procedures
  • Medications

Tasks Tab

View and manage tasks related to this pet, such as:

  • Scheduled vet appointments
  • Follow-up requirements
  • Training sessions
  • Other care tasks

Files Section

Access and manage documents related to the pet, such as:

  • Intake forms
  • Medical records
  • Behavioral assessments
  • Adoption paperwork

Pet Profile Actions

From a pet's profile, you can perform several actions using the buttons in the top-right corner:

Edit Pet Information

  1. Click the Edit button (pencil icon)
  2. Update any information about the pet
  3. Save your changes

Profile Visibility

Toggle whether the pet should be visible to the public:

  • Eye icon: Pet is visible to the public
  • Crossed-out eye icon: Pet is only visible internally

More Options Menu

Click the three dots (⋯) to access additional options:

  • Archive/Unarchive: Remove pet from active status or restore them
  • Print: Generate a printable version of the pet's profile
  • Delete: Permanently remove the pet's profile (only available for specific statuses)

Additional Action Buttons

  • History: View the pet's history with your organization
  • QR Code: Generate a QR code linked to the pet's profile
  • Notes: Add internal notes about the pet

Pet Status Management

Change a pet's status by clicking on their current status badge. Available statuses include:

  • Intake: Intake, Medical Hold, Surrendered
  • Active: Available, Fostered, Hold, Recovery Period, Pending
  • Outcomes: Adopted, Deceased, Euthanized, Transferred
  • Administrative: Archived, Other
  • Other Statuses: Stray, Quarantine, Medical Treatment, Lost, Escaped, Returned to Owner

Each status affects how the pet appears in searches and what actions are available.

Bonded Pets

If a pet has bonded companions (pets that should be adopted together), they will be indicated by a special icon. Click on this icon to see which pets are bonded together.

Pet Age Display

Pet ages can be displayed in several ways:

  • Years and months for adult pets
  • Months for younger pets
  • Age categories (Puppy/Kitten, Young, Adult, Senior)
  • Exact birthdate (if known)

The system automatically updates the age based on the information provided.
