Built-in Reports
PawPlacer ships with five reports that cover the metrics most shelters need to track. Each one is ready to use from the Reports page with no configuration required.
Population Report
Shows the current makeup of your shelter by species, status, and demographics.
Key metrics:
- Total active pets
- Breakdown by species (dogs, cats, rabbits, etc.)
- Count by status group (intake, active, outcomes)
- Age category distribution
Use this report to understand who's in your care right now and spot trends like seasonal intake spikes.
Medical Report
Tracks medical events, costs, and upcoming care needs across all your animals.
Key metrics:
- Medical event counts by type (exams, procedures, vaccinations)
- Total medical expenses, broken down by species and status
- Monthly cost trends
- Vaccination coverage rates
- Upcoming follow-up appointments, including overdue items
- Prescription schedules and refill status

Length of Stay Report
Analyzes how long pets stay in your care before reaching an outcome.
Key metrics:
- Average length of stay (days)
- Median and maximum stay durations
- Breakdown by current status
- Per-pet details with intake dates, days in care, and age
- Category analysis by species, age, and size
Use this report to identify long-term residents who may need extra marketing or placement support, and to track whether your average stay duration is trending in the right direction.
Outcomes Report
Tracks what happens to the animals that leave your care.
Key metrics:
- Adoption counts and trends
- Transfer statistics
- Return rates
- Per-pet outcome details including breed, color, days in care, and status change dates
- Outcome summary by status
Use this report to measure placement success rate and understand the overall flow of animals through your organization.
Financial Report
Shows adoption fee revenue and donation totals with period-over-period comparisons.
Key metrics:
- Total adoption fees collected (current period vs. previous period)
- Total donation amounts
- Revenue per adoption
- Daily, weekly, and monthly revenue trends
- Payment confirmation status
