Using the Schedule View

Navigate your organization's calendar and manage upcoming events and tasks

The Schedule View provides a calendar-style overview of all your upcoming tasks and events, helping you plan and manage your organization's activities effectively.

Accessing the Schedule View

The Schedule View occupies the lower portion of your dashboard, providing a week-at-a-glance calendar of all your tasks and events.

Understanding the Schedule Display

The Schedule View includes:

  1. Week Display: Shows 7 days at a time on desktop (fewer on smaller screens)
  2. Date Header: Displays the current week's date range
  3. Navigation Arrows: Move between weeks using left/right arrows
  4. Time Grid: Shows hours from early morning through evening
  5. Color-Coded Items:
    • Blue: Events (adoption events, meet-and-greets, etc.)
    • Various colors: Tasks based on their tags
    • Each item shows its title and time slot

Navigating the Calendar

To browse different weeks:

  1. Click the left arrow (←) to go to the previous week
  2. Click the right arrow (→) to go to the next week
  3. The current date range updates in the header
  4. Your selected week is remembered during your session

The calendar automatically adjusts the visible hours based on when you have scheduled items.

Schedule Items Display

Each item in the schedule shows:

  1. Title: The name of the task or event
  2. Time Slot: Visual representation of duration
  3. Pet Images: Thumbnail photos of associated pets (when applicable)

Items are positioned according to their scheduled time and may span multiple hours.

Working with Schedule Items

Click on any item to:

For Tasks:

  • View complete task details
  • Update task status or information
  • Assign or reassign to team members
  • Add or remove associated pets
  • Delete or duplicate the task

For Events:

  • View event details including location and description
  • Edit event information
  • Manage associated pets
  • Delete or duplicate the event

Creating New Items

The Schedule View is read-only. To add new items:

  1. For Events: Go to Events in the main navigation
  2. For Tasks: Go to Boards in the main navigation

Once created, new items automatically appear in your Schedule View.

Empty Schedule

When you have no scheduled items for the displayed week:

  • An empty state message appears
  • Use the "Add a Task" button to go to the Boards page
  • Or navigate weeks to find scheduled items

Tips for Effective Scheduling

  • Tasks from Today's Tasks panel are highlighted when clicked
  • The schedule updates in real-time as you modify tasks or events
  • Use different task tags to create visual distinctions
  • Check for overlapping items to avoid conflicts
  • Review the full week every Monday for better planning

The Schedule View provides a comprehensive overview of your organization's activities, helping coordinate team efforts and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
