Rescued on 3 May 2022, Tilly was suffering from a fractured leg, and the other front paw has had most of the skin and muscle torn off. After careful assessment and treatment at Animal Wellness, she continued her treatment and rehabilitation with us at the Sanctuary. As she was young, we were hopeful she would heal completely, but it was a long and expensive process. We needed to change her bandages and apply manuka honey twice per day. We had to put a full muzzle on because she was so aggressive due to the pain, but it was only for the examination. Her recovery was slow, as such wounds are - she basically had to regrow the tissues on her legs. We are delighted that she is now fully recovered, with barely a scar. She's a lovely friendly girl, despite all she's been through.
