On 28 January 2024, we responded to yet another hit and run. It's easy to think that the number of such accidents is simply due to the number of stray dogs around the streets, but excessive speed, lack of driving care and awareness and poor vehicle maintenance all play their part. She had apparently already been lying there for 24 hours and we were sure she had internal bleeding, which usually kills a dog within 48 hours. She was in a lot of pain and vomiting blood when we got to her. Nevertheless, we did everything we could, painkillers, IV and other medications to help her, and of course a comfy bed to rest her weary body on. A few weeks later, she stabilised, and over the following months completed her road to recovery, and we hope, maybe even a new home. ??She is such a lovely girl and likes nothing more than cuddles and attention!
