Taskboards

Learn how to create and manage tasks in PawPlacer.

PawPlacer offers a comprehensive task management system to help you organize and track various tasks. Tasks play a major role throughout the entire PawPlacer system, allowing you to easily view and manage tasks at any time.

Navigating Taskboards

1. Accessing Taskboards

  • Access: From the main menu, click on the Tasks tab (or Checklist icon) to access the taskboards list view.

2. Managing Boards

  • Create and View Boards: View all existing taskboards and create new ones as needed.
  • Customization: Each taskboard has its own set of tags and columns to help you organize tasks effectively.
  • Editing Boards: Edit the name or image of a taskboard by clicking the ellipsis icon next to the board name.
  • View Tasks: Click on an existing board to view its tasks and columns.

Viewing and Organizing Taskboards

1. Viewing a Taskboard

  • Taskboard Structure: Taskboards allow you to visualize and manage tasks efficiently with columns representing task types or priority levels.
  • Add Tasks: Click "Add Task" to create a new task in any column.
  • Drag and Drop: Update task status by dragging and dropping tasks between columns.

2. Task Details

  • Quick Overview: Get an overview of task details, including the name, assignee, due date, and any associated pets and tags.
  • Filtering Tasks: Use the tag input at the top of the page to filter tasks by tag type and view tasks that match specific criteria.

Managing Tasks

1. Editing Tasks

  • View and Edit: Click on a task to view and edit its details.
  • Update Details: Update the task name, description, due date, assignee, and tags.
  • Categorize Tasks: Add or remove tags to categorize tasks effectively.
  • Save Changes: Click "Save" to apply your updates.

2. Deleting and Archiving Tasks

  • Task Removal Options: There are two ways to remove tasks from a board: deleting and archiving.
  • Deleting a Task: To permanently delete a task, click on the task and then click Delete. Note that deleted tasks cannot be recovered.
  • Archiving a Task: To move a task to the archived section, click on the task and then click Archive.

By using PawPlacer's taskboards, you can efficiently manage tasks across your shelter, ensuring that all responsibilities are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
